PRESIDIO TRAIL RUN PREGAME & PICNIC

Date: cancelled due to school closure

Time: 8 - 10am

Location: Presidio YMCA parking lot

What: Calling all CHS runners (and walkers)! Let's hit the trails together at the Presidio Trail Run. This is a fun event for the whole family to exercise while exploring some new trails near school. There will be pre-run festivities for families participating, and then we'll gather again afterward for a healthy post-run breakfast. You don't need to be a regular runner to participate; the 1.5-mile route is friendly for all ages and abilities.

We will meet at 8am before the race in the YMCA parking lot. After the run, our picnic location is TBD, but will be near the YMCA and CHS.

A FINAL lap for big bay

What: Say sayonara to our wonderful wheely tradition with a last lap around Golden Gate Park. All you need to bring is your wheels (scooter, bike, tricycle), a helmet, and possibly a picnic mat to relax on. Our hosts will provide coffee, bagels and lox, pastries and fruit. Siblings and other family members are more than welcome!

A PERSONALIZED TOUR OF THE SFMOMA FOR CHS FAMILIES

Location: SFMOMA

What: On this family-friendly tour of the SFMOMA, we will explore a few galleries together, stopping to take in a handful of eye-catching and kid-loving pieces. Our little ones might find themsleves under an enormous mobile by Alexander Calder or reimagining what a self-portrait can be.

After our curated tour, budding art enthusiasts can flex their artistic muscles with a craft project and eat lunch (provided) while contemplating the finer points of their favorite pieces.

Our exact timing and schedule of events may change, but this is an idea of what we'll be up to.

LIttle Bay & Little Garden: CAMPING IN THE PRESIDIO

Date: Saturday, Oct. 26-27, 2019

Time: 3pm on Saturday, Oct. 26 - 10:00am on Sunday, Oct. 27

Location: Rob Hill Campground (in the Presidio)

What: Take in the magic and wonder of the Presidio with your Little Bay & Little Garden friends at an overnight family camping trip! Join the adventure at Rob Hill Campground -- four wooded acres perched above Baker Beach. Bring your tent (or rent one from Sports Basement) and enjoy a potluck-style dinner (the hosts will provide mains and divvy up the side dishes among campers). The night under the stars will wrap up with stories and s'mores.

Wake up to a morning chorus of breaking waves, fog horns and bird songs accompanied by coffee and light breakfast fare. The site's modern amenities make it the perfect spot for camping with little ones.

Tickets: $75 per family

lunch & “Construction site on christmas night”

Date: Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019

Time: 12:00-2:30pm

Location: Split followed by a show at the Bay Area Children’s Theatre at the Children’s Creativity Museum Theatre

What: An irresistible holiday treat for the whole family! Down in the big construction site, Bulldozer, Excavator, Cement Mixer, Dump Truck and Crane Truck are giving their all to build a big new home for the fire trucks before Christmas.

We'll meet at Split (145 4th St.) for a delicious lunch and then walk over to the Bay Area Children's Theatre (221 4th St.) for our show at 1:30pm.

Recommended for ages 3 and up. The show is about an hour in length.

CHS CAMPING IN THE PRESIDIO

Location: Rob Hill Campground (in the Presidio)

What: We love that our kids experience the magic and wonder of the Presidio at Cow Hollow School. Let's take it up a level with an overnight family camping trip! Join the adventure at Rob Hill Campground—four wooded acres above Baker Beach and the only campground in San Francisco. Bring your tent (or rent one from Sports Basement) and enjoy dinner, a great sunset, and of course, s'mores and stories.

Wake up to the sounds of fog horns and serenading owls, accompanied by hot coffee and light breakfast fare. Rob Hill's modern amenities make it the perfect spot for new or reluctant campers.

Tickets: $150 per family

It's a Boat! It's a Tram! It's the Boat Tram Streetcar!

Location: Fisherman's Wharf (the MUNI streetcar stop at Jones Street & Beach Street)

What: Join Henry, Jack and their families for a fun morning out cruising the streets of San Francisco! Before hopping aboard, check out the city's newest streetcar, a historic boat tram that hails from across the pond.

We'll meet promtly at 10am at the MUNI streetcar stop in front of Fisherman's Wharf (Jones Street & Beach Street). We will ride roundtrip from Fisherman’s Wharf, along The Embarcadero towards the ballpark and back again.

Snacks and drinks will be provided by our hosts.

Tickets: $20 per person (infants are free)

SAusalito kayaking adventure

Location: Sea Trek in Sausalito

What: Join Eva, Leonardo and their family for an adventurous morning out on the calm waters of scenic Richardson Bay in Sausalito. We'll spend an hour out on the water, visiting everything from napping seals to eclectic Sausalito house boats. After our paddle, we'll enjoy casual snacks and drinks on the dock. Life jackets, dry bags and storage lockers are available at Sea Trek free of charge.

What: Spare no one! This event isn't to be missed! Join Carter and his family for a fun morning of bumper bowling at Presidio Bowl. The bowling is just for the kiddos (sorry, parents), but have no fear: We will fuel the fun with lunch for all. Shoe rental for kiddos included. Siblings welcome.

What: Michelle Wing, founder of It’s Yoga Kids, will lead a special class for CHS kiddos (plus one adult per child). Enjoy this fun, musical introduction to yoga, movement and mindfulness, stay after for coffee and light snacks, and send your teeny yogini home with a special yoga-inspired gift. Please bring your own mat!

THE GREAT PUMPKIN (PATCH)

Location: Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch

What: On the look out for the perfect pumpkin? Love visiting farms? Want to get a little more use out of your child's Halloween costume? Join the Berg (Big Bay) and Kern (Big Bay, TTH Nest) families at Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch! We’ll have food and beverages for all, and a pumpkin for each child to take home. Costumes encouraged!

What: Let’s make pancakes (including some pumpkin-flavored ones)! We’ll have fun cut-out shapes and toppings, as well as a side of fruit skewers. Once full of pancake deliciousness, we will decorate pumpkins.  Attendees will go home with the pancake recipe, fruit skewer recipe and a decorated pumpkin.
